The MD's Biography
Mr Modise Mokgathong is the former Head of Security Services of Botswana Telecommunications Corporation Limited (BTCL), a fixed and mobile network operator in Botswana. His portfolio had an oversight of Information Security strategy and corporate security governance with direct accountability to the executive management.
Modise commenced his corporate career as a graduate trainee with BTC in 1999 and for over 20 years rose through the ranks of Assistant Engineer, Senior Assistant Engineer to Lead Engineer in Data Communications. He became part of the BTC senior management in 2005 as Head of Network Security and Fraud Management and subsequently Head of Network Performance in 2013 where he was responsible for managing network performance for all network technologies and manage the end-to-end network performance for fixed, data, mobile and special services such as VSAT and earth stations.
Modise was instrumental in the formation of BOTUSAFE Central Registry for the micro-lenders in Botswana as an entrepreneur. He has been a board member of BOTUSAFE since 2006 and currently he is vice-chairman of the board of directors. He is also the chairman of Larissa Hotel as subsidiary of BOTUSAFE. Modise is a former member of GRAPA (Global Revenue Assurance Professionals Association), FIINA(Forum for International Irregular Network Access). He is a member IoDSA (Institute of Directors Southern Africa).
